little poems before sleep

November 18, 2012

o cynical children
they never tell lies
they only become
uncommonly wise
or commonly fools
with cynical tongues
and commonplace wisdoms
in commonplace lungs

and wisdom’s the face
they’ll wear till the flies
eat up their stories
and breed in their eyes
and cynic’s the face
they’ll wear till the flies
eat up their stories
and breed in their eyes
